Senior Citizens
The Senior Citizens meet every Tuesday from 2.00 – 4.30p.m. in the Community Centre.They enjoy Painting & Craft classes, also Knitting and Crocket under the instruction of a teacher from the V.E.C. They also have regular computer classes.
After these classes they enjoy refreshments and if time allows they indulge in a game of bingo. The Chiropodist visits fortnightly by appointment.
Regular trips are organised to the Theatre as well as visits to other over 60’s Clubs for social evenings. The Seniors head to their favourite venues for lunch on half day trips, including Kinsale, Blarney, Cobh amongst others. On full day trips they depart at 11.00a.m. and return at 11.00p.m.
They also take three day hotel breaks in May or September and go on a self-catering holiday to Youghal in March.
This sub-committee caters for all interests and new members are always welcome.
The Seniors take part annually in the over 60’s Talent Competition and to date we have been very well represented in the final each year.
